One of the rising talents in Irish music and gaining a lot of momentum as a composer, teacher and performer. He is from Co.Clare and has reaped the rewards of being
from such a vibrant musical County. Conor went to Secondary School in Glenstal Abbey where he
was awarded Musician of the Year; he studied in UCC for 4 years with Mel Mercier and recieved an
Honours BaMus and BMus, this is where his first taste for experimental music began; he then went
onto UL to recieve an Honours MA in Irish Music Performance and began working at UL directly
aftertwards as a Flute tutor where he now teaches every level from Undergraduate to PhD Students.
A combination of ongoing hours in the practice room and interest in an extremely broad range of
musical styles gives Conor a very unique sound. He is quickly being recognised as one of the top
players, and even though he is only 25 years old he has filled in for legendary flute players Matt
Molloy and Michael McGoldrick.
Since 2015, Conor has started taking lessons in Jazz and Classical music, and is also taking graded exams
on the piano to improve his musicianship. With endless ambition and open mindedness, there is no
end to the possibilities for this musician.
